The Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre (NVEEC) established a Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association in 2012 to encourage active and meaningful engagement with our local community.
Through the P&C, we support community connections and raise awareness of the Centre’s educational programs and operations. We host and participate in partner networking events and maintain an active volunteer network to keep people connected to projects we are engaged in across the region.
One of our major achievements has been securing community grant funding to undertake significant habitat restoration projects. Between 2020 and 2022, the P&C secured support through Landcare Australia and WIRES for the Numinbah – Holding Tight project, focused on developing and strengthening wildlife corridors between Lamington and Springbrook National Parks.
Today, Numinbah – Holding Tight remains the P&C’s primary ongoing focus, supporting long-term conservation, community participation, and hands-on learning through regular field days and restoration activities.
Our conservation projects provide high school students, local community members, and volunteers with opportunities to participate in and learn about habitat restoration, while contributing to the protection of areas with significant cultural and ecological values.
