The Office of the Chief Allied Health Officer (OCAHO) is led by the Chief Allied Health Officer (CAHO) and sits within NT Health. The OCAHO provides strategic leadership of allied health clinical governance systems that underpin the delivery of quality patient care across the Northern Territory. The OCAHO has a small number of staff delivering on key allied health quality improvement and workforce initiatives, including:
- Professional leadership, strategic advice and guidance
- Allied health service and workforce planning and development
- Delivery and support to clinical teaching and effective professional practice supervision
- Program management of the Allied Health Rural Generalist Program
- Clinical Governance and Models of Care.
