Oikotan Inc. (formerly Oikotan) is a not-for-profit multicultural organization.
We have grown leaps and bounds in the last 4 years since our inception in May 2021. 2022 marked a very special year in the journey they set out on where we got incorporated and officially started celebrating out biggest annual event, “Durga Pujo” in Brisbane with idols shipped directly from our hometown in India, Kolkata.
We have been organizing several events/festivals throughout the year including Saraswati Pujo, Lakshmi Pujo and other annual events like picnic and the new addition, street food festival. We made history by being the first ever organization to facilitate the official release of Bengali movies(Tollywood) in Brisbane("Belshuru").
We, Team Oikotan, promise to strengthen our Bengali cultural heritage by promoting your talent to the broader community. We promise to connect with you and be the voice of Bengalis in Brisbane.
