Founded in 2006, Open Studio Bar became one of Melbourne’s most iconic and intimate live music venues. For over 18 years, it hosted thousands of gigs featuring local, national, and international artists — from pay-as-you-feel acoustic nights to sold-out dance parties, crepe-fuelled jazz jams, and everything in between. With over 40 fresh cocktails, live music five to six nights a week, and our famous secret garden courtyard. Open Studio earned its reputation as a hub for creativity, community, and good vibes.
But now, a new chapter begins.
Open Studio is no longer a fixed venue — we are evolving into a roaming pop-up experience. Our mission is to honour the spirit of Open Studio by creating unforgettable live music events in unique locations across Melbourne and beyond. Think secret gigs, surprise jams, and collaborations that carry forward the legacy of inclusion, artistry, and spontaneity that defined our home base.
