Outback Independent Living (OIL) supports people with disability across Outback Queensland to access the services, opportunities, and resources they need to belong and thrive. As the recognised peak body for people with disability in Central West Queensland, we work alongside individuals, families, carers, and community partners to build inclusive, sustainable communities.
We provide practical, community-driven support across:
NDIS access, assessments, and plan reviews
Information on housing, respite, and employment
Referral pathways and service navigation
Peer networks and individual capacity building
Workshops, information sessions, and community outreach
These workshops are proudly delivered as part of our Peer Support and Capacity Building Project, funded by the NDIA. Over two years, we are delivering 20 workshops and establishing peer networks in key regional towns—empowering people with disability to build confidence, make informed decisions, and grow stronger support networks.
All workshops are designed to align with our Thriving Goals—a shared commitment to helping people with disability live their best life in the bush. From communication and confidence to independence, relationships, and inclusion—thriving looks different for everyone, and we’re here to help make it possible.
Want to tell us what kind of workshop your community needs? We’d love to hear from you and work together to make it happen.
