Everyone's welcome at Poetry Lovers Perth: a community initiative which exists to encourage participants to support each other in celebrating and developing our community's poetic knowledge, skills, and talent. We strive to be an inclusive, interactive, and practical: participants are invited to contribute thoughts, ideas, skills, tips, opportunities, and knowledge. Poetry Lovers Perth welcomes poets at every stage (beginner, hobbyist, professional) of their creative writing journey.
Poetry Lovers Perth is run by entertainer Jake Dennis @PoetOfJazz whose poetry has been published in over 100 publications across fourteen countries around the world. JD is a performer with 25 years experience in the WA arts industry with local and global television, radio, stage, and screen credits. Jake Dennis's work has been recommended by judges of over 12 poetry competitions in the past two years and his award-shortlisted debut manuscript Journeying is scheduled for publication with Fremantle Press in 2027.
