Predator Free Port Hills is a community-led initiative of the Summit Road Society, dedicated to restoring the Port Hills as a thriving refuge for native wildlife. With over 2,000 households actively trapping, our volunteers are reducing predator numbers and helping species such as tūī, bellbird, kererū, lizards, and insects flourish once again. We provide traps, resources, and guidance to make backyard trapping simple and effective, and run workshops and events to connect and support the community. Together with local residents, schools, and partner organisations, Predator Free Port Hills is working towards a shared vision: a predator-free Port Hills where nature and people can thrive side by side, now and into the future.
