P +61 8 8302 0460 E Allan.OConnor@unisa.edu.au Dr Allan O’Connor is Professor of Enterprise Dynamics and Industry Ecosystems and Sustainable Societies lead for the Centre for Enterprise Dynamics in Global Economies at the University of South Australia. With engineering and business qualifications, his early career involved Business Development roles with SMEs, including his own ventures. In 2003, Allan commenced his academic career to pursue research that informs entrepreneurs, management, policymakers, and regional development agencies on how to identify and grow opportunities and foster innovation and entrepreneurship. Allan has led several funded projects including establishment of the Australian Cluster Observatory in 2014, the ‘Industry 4.0 Leadership & Technology Adoption Initiative’ and ‘The value proposition for increased drone take-up in Australia’. Allan has published more than 50 international manuscripts on entrepreneurship and innovation, entrepreneurship education, and entrepreneurial ecosystems, and has been recognised as Australia’s leading researcher in innovation and entrepreneurship by the Australian newspaper in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
