Armed with four nylon strings and a lifetime of punk rock pedigree, Punxsie is a solo powerhouse redefining acoustic rock. Best known as the bassist for ska-punk outfit Operation Ibis, Carly switches gears to fully unlock her sharp songwriting skills on the ukulele. Channelling the fierce spirit of Ani DiFranco and the raw acoustic drive of the Violent Femmes, Punxsie delivers tunes packed with grit, angst, and sudden bursts of humour. From pet-owning realness to anti-establishment anthems, she invites listeners into an insightful, wonderful story of love, rejection of the status quo, and everything in between.
