Rachel has been a stitcher and maker since childhood, with a deep appreciation for taking time, working with her hands and enjoying the process of creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Wherever possible, she works with vintage and secondhand fabrics and threads, finding beauty in the discarded and unwanted and giving treasured materials a new life.
Alongside her creative practice, Rachel has worked in mental health for more than 30 years and has developed a deep interest in the connection between handcraft, creativity and wellbeing. She has experienced firsthand and observed in others the gentle way stitching can calm the mind, reduce stress and create space for reflection and new perspectives.
Through her workshops, Rachel hopes to create a welcoming space to slow down, make with your hands and enjoy the simple pleasure of stitching in good company.
