Reify is the creative project of Eamonn Briggs, an artist and designer based in Naarm/Melbourne. Their work explores ways to strengthen people’s connection to their environment, focusing on the effect this relationship has on the way we impact the natural world. Taking an ecocentric approach to design, they seek to create pieces in collaboration with their environment. This approach involves ethically foraging for natural dyes and other materials and bringing them together using a variety of traditional textile techniques.
Their workshops are intended to introduce participants to this approach to design through one or more of the techniques that they employ in their work. They hope that these workshops can introduce participants to both a new hobby and a new way to connect to their environment.
