Renita studied textiles at university in the 80's & quickly became obsessed with natural dyeing, stitching & weaving. Over the past 40 years she has continued to travel & seek the advice of alchemists & researched many traditional texts & recipes to better understand the extraction of natural dyes, and to create her own unique stitched & woven art objects. This exploration has taken her on a lifelong journey from the southern seas, through the central Australian deserts to the top of the Territory & across Asia into Indonesia, Vietnam, China & Cambodia.
Renita is currently a producer, artist, gardened & educator in her shed at Stoney Chute, near Nimbin NSW.
