Resilient 4017 was started by a group of passionate locals in the Brighton, Sandgate, Shorncliffe, Deagon and Bracken Ridge area, keen to bring our community together to plan for the future that’s coming. We aspire to connect with a national network of local grassroots climate resilience groups who are working actively in their communities and discussing what can still be done to make sure that we avoid runaway climate change.
Resilient 4017 is a community-led project where locals will determine the biggest priorities for our area and how we can start to respond to them. We’re focusing heavily on community resilience, mutual aid and building relationships that will create a robust, diverse and connected community of like-minded people.
We are seeking broad support from the 4017 community in building this movement, recognising that we all have various skills, ideas and creativity to contribute, and that a diverse and inclusive network of empowered and connected locals is best placed to plan for climate impacts we’re already facing, and will continue to face, and to support one another through the challenges that emerge.
