Riddells Creek Cool Changes is an Action Group of Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group (MRSG). A community action group is made up of local people who are passionate and able to volunteer some of their time and energy in a certain area to contribute to sustainable living in our town and region.
In 2023, Macedon Ranges Shire Council helped Riddells Creek residents to develop a shared vision for future climate action within the Riddells Creek township. The community identified that a foundational value was to be a connected community with an overarching goal of reducing emissions so RCCC was established.
In 2024 to enact their values, Riddells Creek Cool Changes members engaged 42 volunteers to plan for, develop and run an Enviro-Energy Expo with the aim of showcasing practical and affordable solutions to protect our pockets and the planet.
It was a free event, with free lucky door prizes to make it accessible to all. Including volunteers, display personnel, speakers and panellists, it is estimated that nearly 400 people were in attendance.
To follow on from the success of the 2024 Expo, RCCC volunteers are organising the 15 March 2025 event. It will again coincide with the Riddells Creek Farmers Market which will run from 9am to 1pm on the same day. There will again be keynote speakers, panellists, One on One Free Consultations and displays.
