Riders Lane is a community-focused social enterprise founded by Sonia van den Berg, running Australia's first community DIY motorcycle workshop. Since opening in Mitchell, Canberra, in October 2023, Riders Lane has given members access to a fully equipped workshop — with dedicated bays, hydraulic motorcycle lift tables, professional tools, and support from experienced volunteers — to work on their own bikes.
Membership includes mentoring sessions, organised rides and community events. Riders Lane also runs classes covering everything from basic motorcycle maintenance through to more advanced skills, including women's-only sessions.
