The S3F Coalition is a global alliance of civil society organizations dedicated to redirecting public development finance away from industrial animal agriculture and toward sustainable and equitable food production systems.
Our Coalition: Our Steering Committee comprises seven leading organizations: the Bank Information Center, Friends of the Earth US, the Global Forest Coalition, the International Accountability Project, Sinergia Animal, World Animal Protection, and Compassion in World Farming, supported by over 30 campaign members worldwide.
Our Work: We engage with Public Development Banks to address the environmental, social, and economic risks of financing industrial livestock operations. Through research, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement, we promote financing mechanisms that support sustainable agriculture while protecting communities, ecosystems, and animal welfare.
Key Focus Areas:
Policy reform at multilateral development banks
Environmental and social risk assessment improvements
Support for alternative protein and regenerative agriculture financing
Community consultation and transparency in development finance
Current Impact: Operating across diverse contexts from Latin America to Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia, we work to ensure public finance serves genuine development goals rather than perpetuating harmful industrial models.
