Sandy Kumnick is an experimental visual artist who envisaged the idea of Climate Canons. Sound artist, Sebastian Tomczak created the sound-to-colour interactions and helped mentor Sandy during the development of this project. Sculptor Anika Gardner and Designer Martin Murray fabricated the stands using repurposed metal and collaborated the designs with Sandy. African master drum maker, Sam Oshodi fabricated the structure of wooden ‘drum’ using pine boards to Sandy’s design. Sandy sanded, oiled and waxed the surface by hand.
Our focus has been on presenting visual works of art created with sustainable materials and to inspire awe of the mysteries of the natural world, in support of positive changes that slow down and reverse the effects of Climate Change.
