I became aware of a deeper reality beyond the physical senses at around 4 years old, which led me to ask questions about the purpose of life, origins, and the afterlife. Raised in Wanganui in a lower-middle-class family on a small horse farm, such questions were often discouraged. I sought purpose and meaning over material pursuits and learned the value of hard work early on.
After leaving high school in the late 1970s, I apprenticed with NZ Railways and converted to the LDS church at 17. At 18, I became a missionary, trusting my spiritual intuition and experiencing many spiritual events. I moved to the USA, attended BYU in Utah, and graduated magna cum laude in 1989, followed by a PhD in 1995.
While in grad school, I balanced family life, work at the Utah Psychiatric Hospital, and running a martial arts school, teaching Chinese Kung Fu. I learned to use chi and trained diligently, transforming our horse stable into a gym. My Kung Fu skills led to teaching opportunities and recognition for my internal Kung Fu abilities.
I also developed as a spiritual teacher, teaching diverse scriptures with deep spiritual understanding, attracting people from various backgrounds. My doctoral studies included biblical Hebrew, enhancing my insight. I later competed in UFC 2 as the first New Zealander and first PhD fighter, marking a pinnacle in my martial arts career.
Post-graduation, I explored other spiritual paths, studying the Celestine Prophecies, Carlos Castaneda, the Law of One, and more.
After my children were grown, I returned to New Zealand, joined a mystery school, and studied Kabbalah and Tibetan practices. Since 2017, I have maintained disciplined spiritual practices, meditating three to five hours daily.
