Hi, I'm Lisa the slightly crazy, adventure-loving mum of six behind ScullyBug Escape Festival.
After years of running events, markets and community gatherings, I've learned two very important things: women deserve a break, and somebody always forgets to bring the marshmallows.
As a mum of six, I know exactly what it's like to spend your days looking after everyone else. You're the planner, the organiser, the snack provider, the taxi driver, the problem solver, and somehow you're also expected to remember where everyone left their shoes.
I'm currently in my "Let's Live Life" era, which basically means I'm done waiting for someday. Life is happening right now, and I want more adventures, more laughter, more campfires, more dancing, more saying "stuff it, let's do it" and less worrying about the washing basket at home.
That's why I created ScullyBug Escape Festival.
This isn't about being perfect. It's not about fancy dresses, pretending you've got your life together, or sitting through awkward icebreakers. It's about escaping the everyday for a weekend, finding your people, trying something new, laughing until your cheeks hurt, making lifelong friends, and singing terribly around a campfire with absolutely no judgement.
Whether you come with your besties or rock up on your own, you'll be welcomed into a community of women who just want to relax, recharge, have some adventures and remember who they are outside of being everyone's mum, partner, employee, carer or problem-solver.
So leave the responsibilities at home, pack your comfy clothes, bring your sense of adventure, and join us for a weekend of fun, friendship, memories and maybe a few questionable campfire singalongs.
Because life is short, the laundry can wait, and sometimes the best thing you can do is disappear into the bush with a bunch of amazing women and make memories you'll be talking about for years.
See you around the campfire.
Lisa xx
