We are full-time musicians and our passion for making great music, our fascination for ancient instruments and historically informed performance practice, and our drive to innovate, have brought us together to form Sequenza.
Sequenza’s brief is twofold:
to showcase the extraordinary repertoire of the Baroque and earlier musical periods, right back to the Middle Ages;
and to foster the creative development of extraordinary new composition and hybrid old/new music projects.
Sequenza comprises Matt Goddard - percussion, David Malone - lute and guitar, and Brett Rutherford - viola da gamba. Formed in 2015 with soprano Quin Thomson, Sequenza currently performs both as a trio and with guest artists.
