VISION SHAA is a network of professional artists, allies & facilitators working with older people to explore the potential of contemporary performance practice & reflective conversation. We continue to push at the boundaries of artistic practice and resist stereotypical notions of 'aging' and marvel at the boundlessness of creative energy. We develop programs that are relational, creatively stimulating, encourage reflection and draw on the precepts of mental health & death literacy and care theory.
MISSION Our purpose is to enhance the capacity and agency of independently living older people in the Shoalhaven region. Through the delivery of a professionally led program, we acknowledge & amplify voices, stories & creativity.
VALUES & PURPOSE We believe that older people are creative agents whose voices, stories and presence are invaluable to the fabric of our community. We believe that older people deserve to have access to quality programs, best practice and respectful experiences. We believe in delivering programs in emotionally & physically safe environments. We believe that communities are enriched through active participation of its older citizens.
