Founded in 1989 by Italian journalist and environmental activist Carlo Petrini, Slow Food is a non-profit, grassroots organisation that aims to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from and how it tastes.
Slow Food South Australia is part of the global Slow Food network that has grown into a movement involving millions of people in over 160 countries. We aim to engage and educate local South Australian communities and food producers to discover more about their abundant food heritage and edible biodiversity.
