Smoko Theatre is a Hispanic migrant theatre company and school based in Collingwood Yards, Melbourne. We work in Spanish through testimonial theatre — a methodology that invites people to write, perform, and bring their own story to the stage.
Since 2016, we have trained hundreds of students, produced large-scale productions on Melbourne's most important stages, and built a living record of Spanish-speaking migrant memory in Australia. We believe that every story deserves to be told — and that theatre is the most powerful tool for doing so.
