Leah Cotterell (BMus, MMus, DMA)
Leah toured music in education concerts for the Queensland Arts Council and Musica Viva for
16 years and has facilitated singing workshops in the disability sector for Access Arts and
Wesley Mission Queensland since 2016. Her musical memoir “The Pleasure of Sad Songs” has
been presented at mental health forums and international conferences and was the subject of an

Dave McGuire (BMus, BSocWk)
Dave is a professional guitarist and qualified social worker with many years of experience
composing, recording and performing music. Dave works in community programs run by
organisations such as Micah Projects and Wesley Mission that include facilitating music groups
and performances, hosting open mic nights and leading guitar workshops. Throughout his career,
Dave has pursued the dual interests of community engagement through social work and
teaching/performing music in ways that have enabled him to combine these passions to help
those who are socially isolated to develop confidence and obtain independence.
