Sonic Fiction is a Sydney drum & bass collective, event brand, and record label operating as Sonic Fiction Recordings. Emerging in the city’s early-2000s jungle and DnB scene. Focused on deeper and more musical styles of drum & bass, the crew has built a steady presence through releases, club nights, and ongoing support of both local and international artists.
Through Sonic Fiction Recordings, the collective releases music that reflects its stripped-back, deeper approach, while its events have hosted acts including J Majik, Total Science, Operate & Rizzle and Ray Keith over the years, as well as various collaborations with 50/50 and Airbourne.
With a long-standing connection to Sydney’s drum & bass community, Sonic Fiction continues to run events and release music, contributing to the local scene while maintaining its focus on the deeper end of the Drum & Bass spectrum.
