The South Carolina Cannabis Coalition is a strong, grassroots non-profit organization continuing the efforts of SC cannabis advocates from way back in 1976. Very few people know it, but the South Carolina General Assembly actually PASSED a (Very Weak) Medical Marijuana bill back in 1980. It was a college chapter of NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) at The University of South Carolina that led the way back then and that efforts continues today! The SCCC's founder and Executive Director Bob Chapman, also helped start that USC NORML Chapter as an Official USC student organization. A brave cadet at The Citadel won a SC Court Case to start the first college NORML chapter in SC. :)
