The Southern ACT Catchment Group (SACTCG) is a non-government, not-for-profit organisation formed in May 2002 to support active environmental groups and landholders in the southern areas of the ACT. The SACTCG is one of three community catchment groups in the ACT and covers the areas of Woden, Weston Creek, Tuggeranong, Tharwa, Gudgenby and Naas. SACTCG provides a network for members, helping in group formation and operation, providing assistance with project management, funding and resources, promotions, representation, and community networking for sharing ideas. Our member groups originate from the ranks of Parkcare, Urban and Rural Landcare, Waterwatch and other community groups interested in the environment. Some of SACTCG's work includes ecological monitoring, community building, enhancing biodiversity, riparian plantings, weed management, improving soils and water quality, and protecting cultural heritage.
