STASIS is a collective rooted in sound, stillness and reflection. In stasis, sound is not just heard, it is inhabited, encouraging a deeper awareness of the preset moment.
Politically, stasis signifies structural deadlock, moments when systems stall, when progress is blocked and when tension quietly builds beneath the surface - the birth of civil strife born from ideological division. STASIS is our condition: a global pause punctuated by crises. Mutual aid, solidarity, and presence become radical acts in the face of a stalled system.
All proceeds from our events are donated directly to mutual aid networks supporting First Nation communities and families in Gaza—a community enduring relentless genocide, displacement, and erasure. We stand in ongoing solidarity with First Nations communities, whose sovereignty has never been ceded, and whose resistance to colonization continues to guide our collective practices of care and accountability.
These gatherings create moments of stillness that reverberate with resistance. Every STASIS event is an act of mutual care—bringing people together through sound and reflection, while redistributing resources to communities enduring violence, disposession, and systemic injustice.
In the present moment, where oppression is often normalized through silence, STASIS chooses to amplify stillness not as passive absence—but as presence charged with purpose.
We believe in art that does not abstract suffering but stands in solidarity with it.
