In 1986 when we were too young to play in licences venues we hired a hall in Laurel Bank Park, Toowoomba and invited all our friends along to hear bands play. The Flem and The Plastic Popper Beads played and much fun was had. The Flem went on to play a number of events including St Mary’s school social and the Valedictory after party for the Downlands year 12 school leavers at Railway Hall in Toowoomba. Again much fun was had.
40 years later on the eve of the 40th reunion of the 1986 Downlands school reunion and the annual Downlands Grammar Football event where many reunite and friends and family catch up we have decided to present a showcase of music that has since been composed, produced and performed by members of The Flem.
A playlist of original music written and produced in the last 40 years from all band members will be presented on a high quality sound system and there will be live performances by 2 bands. The Crow Tree with founding member Dave Rossington the bass player from the Flem are getting radio play overseas and locally and also performing in Brisbane and surrounds.
