I’ve been in building for 30 years. I grew a design-and-construct company to $15M turnover and 40 staff, and we won MBA Residential Builder of the Year. In 2019 it went into liquidation. I grew it faster than the numbers could carry.
I spent the next few years working out exactly what went wrong: a business degree, coaching qualifications, and a lot of hard reflection. Today, I advise custom builders who are flat out, carrying the risk, but not keeping enough profit.
