The UK Sports Volunteering Research Network was reconstituted in its present form in 2012, with the following objectives:
- To facilitate the interchange of information, ideas, and practice in the research of sport volunteers; especially between researchers and practitioners
- To actively disseminate research about sports volunteers;
- To act as an authoritative body in matters of sport volunteer research;
- To inform about volunteering research from other sectors.
- To identify, respond to and discuss practitioners’ research needs; e.g. NGBs, CSPs, local authorities and universities.
The network aims to facilitate the interchange of information, ideas, and practice in the research of sport volunteers; especially between researchers and practitioners. It normally meets twice a year, the meetings taking the form of presentations from researchers and practitioners, with discussion and networking.
