The Swinburne Sri Lankan Student's Association (SSSA) is the official Sri Lankan club of Swinburne University, which is dedicated in enhancing the amazing cultures, traditions, and values of the pearl of the Indian ocean by sharing this exciting journey with everyone and all communities of Swinburne University.

The Swinburne Sri Lankan Student's Association welcomes students and staff from all backgrounds to join this platform, so we can share the fun together while blending in the essence of Sri Lankan heritage.

The club provides the opportunity to meet new people, build lasting friendships, experience amazing Sri Lankan food, party to great Sri Lankan beats and much more, making life at Swinburne memorable and life changing. 

We are committed to enriching the university community by sharing our culture, supporting student affairs, and engaging in charitable endeavours to make a positive impact. Through sports, cultural celebrations, and community service, SSSA aims to cultivate a sense of unity, develop talents, and ensure a supportive environment for all. Our activities are guided by principles of inclusivity, with a focus on fostering strong bonds within the Swinburne community and beyond, without discrimination.

The club prides itself on providing events such as Baila nights, Kothu nights, regular mixers, Avurudu & Puthandu Festivals, car meet ups, sporting events and tournaments, Sri Lankan festivals and cultural celebrations, annual balls, charity fundraisers and charitable projects, and so much more!

As a member, you will be able to actively be involved in society affairs and have the opportunity to participate in all our events.


Club Aims and Values: 

1. To unify and bond all Sri Lankan identifying students from all ethnicities into a cohesive Swinburne community to share and connect cultures. 

2. To share Sri Lankan traditions, culture, and values. 

3.     To provide a strong community for all Sri Lankan identifying students while mutually strengthening the bonds with the wider Australian community. 

4.        To enhance and develop the sportive and cultural talents possessed by the club members. 

5.        To maintain and provide regular events to our members. 

6.        To provide support to our student members in student affair, rights, and issues. 

7.        To organise charitable programs to support those in most need. 

8.        The activities of the association will not be politically, religiously, or racially discriminatory or charged.

    The Swinburne Sri Lankan Student's Association (SSSA) aims to celebrate and share the rich Sri Lankan culture, traditions, and values within the Swinburne University community. Our mission is to create a vibrant, inclusive platform that unites students and staff from all backgrounds through cultural events, culinary experiences, and community service. We focus on fostering unity, friendship, and mutual respect, enriching the Swinburne experience for everyone involved. SSSA is committed to inclusivity, cultural exchange, and supporting our members in their university journey and beyond, ensuring a dynamic, supportive, and enriching environment for all.
