Melanie has always found her peace and a mindful place in observing and gathering from nature. Through working with her hands and making and creating for others. This a gift passed down through generations of women in her family.
Paper . Porcelain . Wood is a collection of her botanical line drawings, translated as limited edition etched prints for your walls, pen & ink drawings on wood and printed porcelain vessels, proudly exhibited at Table Culture in association with the Subi Blooms weekend.
These artworks are a celebration of the beauty unique to the world around us, and a testament to knowing that this connection is both universal and deeply rooted across generations.

With a 28 year passion for clay Melanie Sharpham, the creative behind Eucalypt Homewares, is inspired by Western Australia's natural landscapes. Copper plate etching is her recent infatuation, finding joy in incorporating the two process driven disciplines.
Derived from observational drawings of Western Australian Flora, Melanies work is combination of natives blooming fleetingly in local gardens and special gems discovered on bush walks in South West forests. Each evoking joy and connection to this special and extremely unique place we live.
The ceramic forms are reminiscent of organic seed pods. Gathered together as expressive womanly forms and displayed as relationships between female family members and gatherings of trees in a forest. Depicting how we are connected to both family and place, belonging and loved.
