I’m Tara - lover of all things crafty and serial hobby hopper. While on mat leave (and mid thousandth hobby hop) I realised, I wasn’t just searching for the holy grail of perfect hobbies… I was missing a community to share them with!
And so Cool Girls Make was born. Making crafting cool again with a mix of workshops to teach everyone the skills I’ve picked up over years of crafting, kids classes, and grown up events to bond over some good food and wine while we craft. Personally, I’m taking a step away from consuming and towards creating, which has given me so much more purpose and shifted the media that I’m consuming - I want to help others do the same!
I love teaching, and I especially love watching my students achieve something they didn’t know that they would be able to do. Seeing the connections form between attendees while they learn reminds me of the whole reason I started CGM - building our little community. I want all my students to inherit a tiny bit of the passion I have for looking at things online and instead of clicking ‘buy’, thinking ‘I can make that!’.
