Te Puia | NZMACI have been leaders in uplifting Māori culture for many years, sharing our values of manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga with manuhiri (visitors). The guiding legacies that we connect to reach back to the earliest beginnings of tourism in Aotearoa New Zealand, and the ancestral intelligence legacy of NZMACI exists to capture and uphold mātauranga Māori.
Te Puia covers a 63-hectare geothermal site in Rotorua and key features include geothermal geysers and landscapes, Kiwi Conservation Centre, Rotowhio Marae, Pātaka Kai Restaurant, Hiakai Café, Oha Gift Store, the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute (NZMACI) and Āhua Gallery.
Join us on a Te Rā Guided Experience for 90 minutes during the day, or in the evening at Te Pō – a 2-hour 45 minute experience, with a Hāngī Buffet Dinner, cultural performance and a visit to the Pōhutu Geyser illuminated.
