What We Do
In 2020 The Bennett Center created a youth entrepreneur program called Hampton Roads Select.
The Hampton Roads Select were a promising group of youth business owners who, under the direction of mentors, were given the opportunity to develop, brand, and sell their products at the Hampton Roads Kidpreneur Expo.
The Bennett Center partnered with sponsors to provide the children with $1,000 to launch their businesses.
Since then we have expanded our program with the help of donors who are often business owners themselves who wished they had this guidance in their younger years.
The program focuses on children who are aged 5-17 and their families.
Bringing whole families out of poverty.
Mission: To provide disadvantaged families with the tools, resources, and opportunities to increase their chances of achieving self-sufficiency.
Vision: To assist those experiencing economic challenges in building a sustainable plan for their future.
Goal: To close the gap of poverty in urban areas through entrepreneurship.
