The Clarence Catchment Alliance (CCA) is based in the Northern Rivers of NSW, on Bundjalung, Gumbaynggirr, and Yaegl Country.
The CCA:
was formed in 2018 as a sub-group under the Clarence Environment Centre (CEC).
is a non-partisan, not-for-profit community group, run by volunteers that facilitates and amplifies the community’s call for a ban on mineral mining in the Clarence Catchment.
is not anti mining - they are unsupportive of mineral mining in areas that are not suited to extractive and destructive industries like flood zones and drinking water catchments and in areas of high ecological and cultural significance.
is dedicated to safeguarding the land, waterways, air, sea, species and communities within the Clarence catchment.
campaign aims to safeguard the environmental, cultural, social and economic wellbeing of the catchment.
The risk of water contamination from mineral mining is heightened in areas of high rainfall, in wetlands, and in flood and landslip zones. The Clarence Catchment is well known for all.
