Since 2002, The Cuban Groove has taught 1,000s of people in New Zealand, Australia and South-East Asia how to dance, and performed live dance and music at countless events, festivals and parties — from WOMAD to Jambalaya, the National Jazz Festival to the Australian Cuban Dance Festival.
The Cuban Groove runs weekly Salsa and Rueda dance classes for all levels on Wednesday nights at Grey Lynn Library Hall, alongside pop-up workshops at different locations in other Cuban dance styles, including: Rumba, Afro-Cuban Orishas, Son, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha and more. Regular events include popular live music and dance parties with its incredible Latin bands, Ke lo Ke and Vivio & Friends, at venues like Ponsonby Social Club and Botticelli.
Get in touch if your company, institution or charity would like to work with The Cuban Groove to create a special class/workshop or regular dance class or event. For example, they currently host Beginners' Salsa classes for large groups at The University of Auckland and the Refugee Centre in Mangere.
