The Hope Movement is on a mission to bring about a brighter human future — one inner life at a time.
We live in an era of extraordinary external achievement, yet epidemic levels of stress, disconnection, and suffering. The Hope Movement was founded on a simple but radical idea: that we have mastered the outer world while neglecting the inner one, and that neglect is now rippling outward into the environmental, social, and political crises of our time.
We believe the inner world has patterns that can be learned and mastered — and that when enough people develop these skills, our world transforms along with them. Our vision is a future in which inner skills are as common as reading and writing, contributing to prosperity, peace, regeneration, and collective sanity.
To help people navigate the thousands of available practices and find what truly serves their growth, we developed The Hope Map — a GPS for human development adapted from Integral Theory — alongside courses, coaching, and educational resources designed to inspire and empower lasting inner change.
The Hope Movement was founded by Jordan Bakker — human rights advocate, teacher, meditator of over 15 years, and currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology. Jordan has worked for positive change across a wide range of contexts: as an advocate with Displacement Solutions, a school transformation officer with the Centre for Multicultural Youth, a collaborator on mental health initiatives with Integrative Psychology and Medicine, and co-founder of Integral Melbourne, which ran over 100 community and meditation events. He has trained with Harvard Professor Dr Daniel P Brown, philosopher Terry Patten, and Geshe Sonam in the Tibetan Karma Kagyu and Bon traditions, and has completed over 100 days on meditation retreat.
The Hope Movement offers education, coaching, and personal development programs. These are not psychological treatment services and do not include clinical assessment, diagnosis, or therapy. For clinical support, please seek assistance from a registered healthcare provider.
