Following the recent release of their cracking new track 'Gilded Morning'
the Owls play a a very special show at Tav, joined by the Simon Juliff band.
With it's layered, tangle guitars and extended jams the track hits a sweet spot somewhere between Television and the Grateful Dead, The Owls are a four-piece alternative rock band, blending rhythm and blues, alt-country and folk influences with psychedelic textures and poetic songwriting. Their sound is somewhat familiar, yet the Owls remain hard to pin down, offering something earthy, unfiltered, expressive and impossible to fake. Their sound hangs on strong melodies and songs that mean something, songs that linger with you long after the last note.
Simon Juliff Band features old friends Joel Silbersher and Jim Sfetsos (HOSS) and Greg Bainbridge (Kim Salmon & the Surrealists). They are currently recording their 2nd album! Their songs combine brightly dappled glimmers of classic pop-rock melodicism with a darkened, frazzled vibe, and guitars that crunch and spangle.
