The biennial Wollombi Valley Sculpture Festival, 12 - 27 September 2026 has grown into one of regional New South Wales' most distinctive cultural events, bringing together exceptional contemporary sculpture, acclaimed artists and thousands of visitors in the heart of the historic Wollombi Valley. More than an exhibition, the festival celebrates artistic excellence while fostering meaningful connections between artists, audiences and the local community.
Established in 2002, it is the largest-scale and longest-running sculpture festival in regional New South Wales. Visitors can explore works by leading and emerging sculptors across a series of unique exhibition sites throughout Wollombi Village, with the full list of exhibiting artists available on the festival website.
The festival is proudly supported by Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, who serves as the festival's Patron. The prestigious Governor's Prize includes a 12-month exhibition at Government House, with previous recipients including Ron Robertson-Swann OAM and Michael Snape.
In 2026, the festival will offer its most significant awards program yet, with a total prize pool exceeding $80,000 across 12 non-acquisitive prizes—making it the most substantial prize offering of any regional sculpture festival in New South Wales.
Entirely volunteer-run, the festival is powered by more than 100 dedicated volunteers whose passion and commitment help create an unforgettable experience for artists and visitors alike.
