The Zonta Club of Timaru Women's Breakfast: 6th November, 7am, at the Parish Centre, Roncalli College, Timaru
Join us for a wonderful Zonta Event of a delicious breakfast, fun fellowship and hearing about Hagar New Zealand and Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
We are privileged to host Kate Russell Executive Director of Hagar NZ, ONZM, FFIA who has a thirty year history in the NGO sector, and has led several high profile NZ Charities, and has spent time on the Boards of several others. A career Fundraiser and Community Development expert, Kate has spent time on several government advisory boards and as a business mentor through Business Mentors NZ.
Kate was recognised in the New Zealand New Year Eve's Honours List with an ONZM for services to the governance and health. Kate is also a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute of NZ and Australia.
Kate will bring us a talk on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking - what can we do. She will discuss the current situation for women and children in South East Asia and the Pacific with rising numbers of human trafficking and slavery. Hagar NZ fights to rid the world of this misery across several countries as part of Hagar International. Kate will also uncover the emerging problems within our own country and look at the things we can all do to get a world where slavery and human trafficking are no longer tolerated.
There will be a raffle table with wonderful raffles as well.
We look forward to seeing you there.
