Eco cellar door that is one of the first zero net carbon cellar doors in Australia. We have amazing views over the upper Onkaparinga Valley to the South East and vineyards, bush blocks and pasture studded with ancient gums everywhere else. Built using waste concrete blocks and carved out of the hill the interior has a Scandi barn feel which reflects the co owner's Danish heritage. Think hygge! The other co owner is the winemaker and vigneron and is passionate about sustainability. Unfortunately in 2019 we were devastated by the Cudlee Creek bushfire, losing 60% of our vineyard and our winery, including all our wine in barrel, vat and bottle. Over the past 6 years we have slowly built back with enormous help from the Adelaide and local community. But the soil suffered too and the remaining vines still haven't reached their previous cropping levels. We forge ahead, with the belief that Nature heals itself and the humans affected by disasters. We've got a lot to be thankful for and we welcome you to our cellar door and Estate with this positive "every cloud has a silver lining" and "there's light at the end of the tunnel" attitude!
