Trashy, a start-up, female-owned and operated creative-reuse social enterprise based in Penrith, in Western Sydney, is dedicated to transforming the community’s perception of fashion ‘waste’ by supporting conscious consumerism and championing the value inherent in so-called fashion waste. At Trashy you can find quality rescued textile and fashion-related resources such as haberdashery, leather, lace, applique, trim and more, perfect for upcycling or other creative projects. You can also join a class or two to learn new skills, or fine-tune current skills. Workshops include basic sewing, clothes upcycling, and introductory leather working, right up to more advanced skills such as bookbinding, bag making, pattern making and more.
