The Big! Yank features some of the best and most established visual artists of the Yankalilla region.
Launching 15th August, Yankalilla Cultural Centre and Library, 181 Main South Road, Yankalilla 5204.
Eight visual artists whose careers span more than 12 countries. It also includes artists represented by premier South Australian galleries. Artists recognised by the Queen’s Trust of Australia, the Mendelsohn Award, as Official Portrait Artists to Presidents, and winners or finalists in many art prizes nationally and internationally.
Artists Karen Hammat, Baden Lloyd, Regine Schwarzer, Leith Semmens, Jane Smeets, Judith Sweetman, Betty Wolf, and Lorraine Zeni.
A diverse collection of artists collaborating to present art that best represents themselves and their artistic aspirations. The exhibition features jewellery, sculpture, painting, drawing, and tapestry art.
Art with themes ranging from environmental and climate change to philosophical self-reflection and religion.
Located in the picturesque townships of Yankalilla and Normanville, this is a rare opportunity for audiences to experience some of the best visual art the region has to offer, as well as some of the most beautiful scenery in South Australia.
Normanville was recently awarded the Best Tourist Town in South Australia, and nearby Carrickalinga was awarded the Best Beach in Australia by the Lonely Planet. The Big! Yank is a magnificent gateway to exploring Australia's best scenery.
