The Turkish Association of South Australia (TASA) is a community organisation based in Adelaide, SA, dedicated to fostering strong connections within the Turkish community. TASA's mission is to promote solidarity, a sense of belonging and mutual support among all Turkish individuals and families living in or planning to move to South Australia. The association is committed to inclusivity and non-judgmental support for all members of the Turkish community, including new arrivals, skilled migrants and international students.
As a pioneer guide, TASA's mission is to ensure that every member of the Turkish community can adapt culturally and linguistically to the broader Australian society. The association provides unwavering and continuous support throughout this transition, striving to make the process as seamless as possible and instilling confidence in our members.
TASA has led community development projects since 1979, organising and leading various initiatives such as monthly meetings, Turkish festivals, national day celebrations, networking events, a Turkish language school, radio programs, and folk dance workshops. These projects are supported on an ongoing basis by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, the Department of Multicultural Affairs, local politicians and councils. Additionally, TASA actively collaborates with local Turkish business owners in Adelaide.
