Some collaborations make perfect sense.
UKOO and Ready or Not were brought together by a shared belief that mums deserve more than products, podcasts or another conversation about self-care. They deserve spaces where they can simply be themselves.
For UKOO, creating moments of care has always extended beyond the bathroom. Founded on the belief that everyday rituals can strengthen connection, the Australian family body care brand has always been as much about community as it is skincare.
For the women behind the Ready or Not podcast, Lauren and Lucinda, building community has meant creating honest conversations around the realities of motherhood, identity and the beautifully messy juggle of modern life.
Together, they've created Permission to Let Loose—an evening designed to give mums something they rarely give themselves: permission to switch off, laugh loudly, dance badly and enjoy a night that's entirely for them.
Because while being a mum is one of life's greatest privileges, it's also relentless.
Between school lunches, endless washing, invisible mental loads and trying to be everything to everyone, many women struggle to remember the last time they simply let loose.
Held at Thornbury Theatre on Wednesday 26 August, Permission to Let Loose will bring together honest conversation, country music, boot scooting, sparkling and genuine connection in what promises to be one of Melbourne's most joyful nights out this winter.
The evening will open with a welcome from Dr Edna Lekgabe, before guests hear from Ready or Not founders Lauren and Lucinda alongside UKOO co-founder Fatuma Ndenzako.
Together, they'll set the tone for an evening that's less about adding another task to your wellness checklist and more about reminding women that joy, friendship and fun are forms of self-care too.
UKOO co-founder Fatuma Ndenzako says the event reflects exactly what both communities believe in.
"So much of motherhood is about showing up for everyone else. We wanted to create a night where women could show up for themselves. Not because they've earned it, but because they deserve it. We hope every woman leaves feeling lighter, more connected and reminded that caring for yourself can be as simple as laughing, dancing and spending time with other incredible women."
With just 100 tickets available, Permission to Let Loose is expected to sell out quickly.
