The CoPQTI aims to generate and support enhanced capacity in sector-leading inclusive practice with queer and trans people, as well as people with innate variations of sex characteristics. It does so by advising researchers across UNSW and beyond on the implementation of national standards, and by providing HDR and staff training on inclusive research practice across a range of policy areas, including public health, medicine, law, and the social sciences. In addition, CoPQTI works to develop an interdisciplinary research cluster to investigate the considerable impact that inclusive research will have on future research findings and public policy development. It also serves as a central platform for generating interdisciplinary consideration of complex requests for advice from within UNSW and beyond.
