Urban Wildlife Gardens (UWG) is a community engagement program for suburban gardeners who wish to create wonderful native gardens for our local wildlife. It is delivered by the Noosa Integrated Catchment Association (NICA) with support from Noosa Council.
People who live in the Noosa Shire can join the Urban Wildlife Gardens program for a one off fee of $30. Members receive a garden visit from our Project Coordinator, who provides expert advice on ways to improve garden biodiversity by using native plants to attract local fauna. She helps to identify weed species, suggests suitable removal methods and provides a folder with a UWG property sign, brochures, the book “Noosa’s Native Plants” and a voucher for several free plants. Monthly newsletters are sent to members with further information and invitations to workshops and field days.
