Wai Taiko Drummers are a community-based performance group whose members are committed to bringing the dramatic performance art of Japanese taiko drumming to audiences around the
Waikato and beyond. Our performances showcase a range of traditional instruments from the massed large drums through the hand-held bells (‘chanchiki’) and cymbals (‘chappa’) to the transverse bamboo flute (‘shinobue’).
